Read between the Lines!
The weekly DEAR program (Drop Everything and Read) offers students far more than a simple sit-and-read experience. This program has completely redefined the idea of reading. Our library houses nearly 15,500 books, magazines, newspapers, periodicals, journals, and eBooks, giving budding readers a vast range of choices. Teachers also use this structured time to connect with each student, assess their progress, and plan targeted instruction.
The program includes guidance from the homeroom facilitator, who helps students explore books from various genres, titles, and time periods. From the beloved classics of Eliot and Austen to contemporary young-adult fiction, students enjoy age-appropriate reading assignments that suit their interests and tastes. Book reviews, reports, and discussions encourage them to share their reading experiences and express their personal perspectives.
The D.E.A.R. Program nurtures in every student a deep and lasting love for reading and literature—one that leaves a meaningful imprint on their lives.
