Silicon Spectrum 10th Inter-School Science Fest

13 Edifiers from grade IV – X participated in various events in the 10th Interschool Science Fest which was held on 22nd of August, 2017. Witnessing the grand inauguration ceremony and other cultural events, a short film was shown to create social awareness on saving our rivers and lakes through a programme called –Rally for Rivers wherein all the citizens of India especially the youth of today were urged to participate in this valuable social cause.

The series of events and competitions started with the Short Film Presentation on the theme “I am with nature, Are you?” in which Luchingba, Amrith Niyogi, Surmayi Singh and Abhay Kannan of grade X participated. The film was self-explanatory and without any dialogues. The whole film was very appealing for which they secured the first prize and received trophies and certificates. Tulasi I.M. participated in the Spot Poster Making using acrylic colour on the topic ‘Depleting Resources of Nature.’ This was followed by a Model Making Competition on the theme ‘Life Cycle of an Animal/Insect’ wherein grade IV children Sanjana Samantha and Jia Jain created a 3D-model on the life cycle of a Giraffe using only recycled material.

Manav Jain and Ruchiranana Marripudi of grade VII participated in Quiz Prelims. The next event awaiting the Edifiers was T-Shirt Designing using extracts of vegetable colours on the topic ‘Indian Festivals’ wherein Sayuri , Ishita Chetri, Vishnu and Brinda of grade V made their presence felt. Ishita Chetri of V B secured the first prize winning the trophy and certificate.

Four Edifiers from grade VIII and IX participated in the Contemporary Dance Competition on the theme ‘Faces of Nature’ on 23/08/17. Srishti Shastri from grade VI and Shivani.B.S. from grade VIII took part in the Solo Singing Competition on the topic ‘Panchabhutas’ wherein they explained the summary of the song after their singing. Magic with Magnets Competition was the last of all events in which Prithvi T.M. and Varsha Bhat of grade VI made their presence felt. Overall, it was an enriching experience for our children.
