    National Deworming Day

On the occasion of National De-worming Day, Edify School conducted an awareness programme for the students on how to be healthy and prevent themselves from being infested with worms. A power point presentation was shown to students in this regard.

Children between the age of 1 and 19 are at high risk of Parasitic Intestinal Worm Infestation known as soil Transmitted Helminthes (STH). Intestinal parasites enter the body due to poor sanitation and hygiene. Helminthes and protozoa are common parasites that live inside the body for many years without any symptoms. Symptoms that show up later are loss of appetite, anemia, abdominal distress; anal itching etc. The infestation can be diagnosed through testing of stools. Infestation can be avoided if children have good and clean habits such as washing hands before eating and after using toilet, wearing shoes while going out, drinkng clean water, not defecating in open spaces and keeping the surroundings clean.

Our students were greatly benefitted by seeing the presentation and they vowed themselves to follow the preventive measures to stay healthy.
